Since 2009, the Young Living Academy has grown from 67 students to 350, and we're ready to expand again to unlock opportunity for even more children in Chongón, Ecuador.

    Education is the key to long-term change.

    An educated child is less vulnerable. Students who graduate high school are less susceptible to exploitation and addiction. High school graduates are also more likely to secure higher paying jobs, marry and have children when they are ready, and raise healthier, more educated children. 

    Since the Academy opened its doors in 2009, we've seen this proven as our students become agents for change in their families and our graduates go on to pursue their dream careers and uplift their communities.

    Each year, we're forced to turn a heartbreaking number of students away.

    As we've grown over the years from 67 to 350 students, we're currently at-capacity and are forced to turn away a heartbreaking number of student applicants because we simply don’t have the room. There is a dire need for access to a quality education in an area where only an average of 20 percent of children graduate high school. 

    Families throughout the community want their children to have access to the best opportunities possible to succeed, which has made our application process extremely competitive. Each year, we can only admit approximately 10 percent of children who apply, and because so few of our students leave the school, admittance into middle school and high school grades is even more difficult.

    But, we know we can do more. We've recently acquired neighboring land and will be expanding our campus to accommodate 1,000 students over the next several years!

    Our students are igniting change.

    As an International Baccalaureate school, we're committed to developing lifelong learners who thrive and make a difference. We're proud to offer a diverse selection of core academic subjects, elective classes, clubs, and extra curricular activities that give our students a well-rounded education that also empowers them to discover their interests and unlock their potential. Our students are also learning the leadership skills they need to inspire change at home and in their communities. From painting murals and installing community libraries to implementing recycling programs at home, our students are building life-long habits that lead them to live meaningful lives.

    Our students excel after graduation, too! Since our first commencement in 2016, we've celebrated 133 graduates, many of whom were the first in their family to receive a diploma. These determined young people are unlocking opportunities that once felt unattainable—92 percent of our graduates have a formal job or are enrolled in college and are pursuing careers in medicine, computer science, business, graphic design, and much more.

    We're tripling in size.

    Over the next several years, we look forward to utilizing our beautiful campus to expand the Academy to accommodate 1,000 students! Throughout the expansion, we’ll be adding grade-specific buildings for our pre-k, elementary, middle, and high school students including dozens of age-appropriate new classrooms, labs, libraries, and extra-curricular spaces.

    We’ll also be onboarding additional teachers and staff, and look forward to welcoming a new wave of ambitious students. To achieve this, we’ll need your help! Learn more about how you can get involved, today.
