The Sasha Artisan Network in India was created to build prosperity by providing income-generating opportunities to nearly 100 artisan groups, and to promote fair trade as a way of life. Women in these groups live in underserved rural areas of northern India. Members of Sasha now benefit from skills trainings, consistent work, stable income, financial savings, insurance, and access to healthcare and education.

"I can earn more money when I am working on larger orders. The money that I receive from this order will go towards rent and paying for my children’s education. I used to feel stressed about providing my children with a proper education, but now I feel proud that I am earning enough money to invest in their schooling. These orders are needed for my children to continue their education."
"When I worked in agriculture with my family, I was working very hard and had to spend day after day in the hot sun working in the field. My working conditions are now better and I am earning more money. Being able to save makes me very happy and I feel more confident and empowered that I can manage my finances in the future."
