Under its Nurture Potential focus area, the Foundation is helping to break the cycles of poverty through education and women's small-business enterprise. Since 2009, the Foundation has focused on generating opportunities for lasting change in communities worldwide. 

For this fundraiser, we are specifically focusing on the mission to provide Afghan girls with education. Young Living Foundation is supporting an organization with a vision of a generation of confident Afghan women with the leadership skills to rebuild Afghanistan and guide their homeland into a better future.

In Afghanistan in 2021, the number of girls attending secondary school was 1.1 million.

In Afghanistan in 2024, the number of girls attending secondary school is 0.

The Taliban have made Afghanistan the only nation on Earth to bar half of its population from receiving an education. 

Since the Taliban decreed that girls in Afghanistan could not attend school past 6th grade this organization has set up a boarding school outside of Afghanistan helping girls evacuate to attain an education.  

Research shows educated girls become women who earn higher incomes, marry later in life, and have fewer and healthier children. Educated women raise educated girls who grow to become educated women themselves. 

As the founder of this incredible organization has said: "The secret to a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan is no secret at all. It is educated girls."

Please help us raise funding for this incredible mission. Your contribution will go directly to the Boarding school and its current and future students. The need is great, this fall they had more than 3300 applications but were only able to enroll about 1% of these applicants due to limitations in space and funding.

Please help us provide education to Afghan girls: to create a leadership generation of women who will one day return home to Afghanistan and rebuild all that the Taliban have destroyed. Educated girls are the difference makers. They are the ones who move society to a safer, healthier, more equitable place.
