Josef and Ben

I want my champion title back for the 2023 Battle of the Bros, so I’m pulling out all the stops and have convinced Ben Riley to join forces with me to defeat my brother! And double the manpower means double the difference as we work to raise a combined $100,000 for the Young Living Foundation. The rules are the same as last year: the winning team gives the losing team a fresh new haircut.

This year, we’re raising money to fully fund our feeding program at the Young Living Academy that provides healthy school breakfasts and lunches to each of our students throughout the school year. When I was two years old, my family moved to Ecuador because my Dad wanted to make the next farm for Young Living. He didn’t go there with a plan to create a nonprofit, he just wanted to help the people that he had come to love in Ecuador. Now, look what it has become!

Since he built the Academy, I’ve watched the school and students grow, in part because my parents understood the important role good nutrition plays in education. For many of the kids at the school, the healthy meals they receive at the Academy are the only ones they’ll receive during the day, and as a recent graduate and current college student, I can tell you firsthand how important healthy meals are to focusing and succeeding in the classroom.

And Ben as a father is also dedicated to making sure no child at our Academy goes hungry because he knows that the quality of nutrition children receive will determine their school performance, prospects for higher education, earning potential, and many of the future opportunities they will have in life. And so together, he and I plan to exceed our $50,000 goal to take home the winning title and provide meals to students at our Academy for a year.
