For students like Seema Kumari who graduated from Yuwa School and is becoming the first in her family to attend college after accepting a full scholarship to Harvard University, and Jerry Ayobí who is receiving a quality education at the Young Living Academy, together we are fostering limitless hope through education.
Earlier this year, fifty girls were rescued from human trafficking in Uganda with the support of our partner Hope for Justice and law enforcement. Held captive in brothels, the girls were stripped of their rights and forced into exploitation. Seventeen of the girls were taken in to receive restorative services at Hope for Justice lighthouses (the other rescued girls were cared for by another local nonprofit), where staff watched fear turn to hope within the first few hours of their arrival.
At the Lighthouses, the girls were provided with safe shelter, medical care, counseling, and catch-up or vocational education so that when they’re ready to leave the lighthouse, they’re ready to reunite with their families or enter the workforce stronger than ever before.
Like Monica Eyaru, one of Mabira Collective’s youngest artisans. Monica grew up in the Kayunga district of Uganda, the second of seven children raised by hardworking parents to be determined in the pursuit of their goals. Monica is teaching her four children the same principals and is leading by example through her work at Mabira.
Monica enjoys her job and loves that she’s able to afford her children’s educations. Ultimately, she is saving up to achieve her dreams of buying a home and sending her children to university.
Our first annual Giving Tuesday Change-a-thon RAISED OVER $150,000

Participants from more than 45 countries joined our annual Run for a Cause 5K, raising $180,000. Thank you for walking, jogging, and running towards a better world for our rising generation!
